Taylors first movie

Adventures With Taylor 2006 from Trey Frey on Vimeo.

Disney Bound

The weather has been gloomy lately and poor Taylor has been stuck inside. Our local resorts are all now closed so she has not even been able to go skiing despite all the new snow we are getting this fine April. She has been spending a lot of time on You Tube researching Disneyland. She will be spending her 5th birthday in Anaheim California at Disneyland and the surrounding parks. The princesses seem to be the most anticipated part of her upcoming California adventure. Although she is excited about the rides and attractions they would be that much better if she could get a princess to ride with her. Taylor and her friend Maclaren whom she is taking on her birthday Disneyland adventure just can’t believe there is a place on earth where there is a princess around every corner. I sure hope Mr. Disney doesn’t let them down!!

Did I mention we are driving.  That's about 12 hours in a car with one 4 year old and 1 five year old. Oh and the adults too.

Mending Fences

One of top rails of the horse fence needed replacing. Taylor and Papa measured a new top rail and that needed to be a small log fifteen feet long. The spare log was hard to drag to the fence, push over the fence and drag it across the paddock to where the fence needed fixing. Papa let Taylor carry the hatchet from the tool room while he carried the handsaw and the cordless drill. The old top rail was attached by two big spikes. They had to saw through the old rail next to the spikes to remove it. Sawing was hard but with Taylor holding the handle and Papa guiding the saw the old log was cut through at both ends. Taylor pounded the small stubs to split them away from the spikes. The new rail was lifted in place next to the spikes still in the cross pieces of the fence. We drilled a hole in the new rail so it could be dropped over the spike. Now the other end of the rail needed a hole to hold the spike. Taylor's little hand just barely fits around the drill handle and her fingers just reach the trigger. But she finally drilled through the second hole. The hole was just right and the new rail fit over the spike. Now the horses will not get through the fence at the old broken place. Taylor carried the hatchet back to the tool room while Papa carried the drill and handsaw. What a great little helper she Taylor is.

Strep Throat

Between her first sleepover at her house and her first sleepover at a friend’s house poor little Taylor got strep throat. On the Tuesday night when Maclaren slept over at Taylor’s house Taylor went to bed a little too easily. In the middle of the night she went to her mom with a super hot fever. She took some fever reducer and by morning she was fine again. Her parents debated taking her friend home first thing and canceling the day of skiing, but she seemed totally fine. They want ahead with the ski date and by the end of their second run Taylor was down for the count. She collapsed in her mom’s arms and her fever was back. Granny came up to help get Maclaren home, and Taylor, mom and dad were on their was to the doctor’s office. The poor little thing had a fever pushing 103 degrees Fahrenheit and felt absolutely horrible. 24 hours and some antibiotics later she was back to her old self and was even able to go on her first away from home sleepover the following Saturday. She sure is resilient.

1st Sleepovers

Taylor was not even 5 years old when she had her first sleepover. Her very best good friend Maclaren slept over on a Tuesday and the following Saturday Taylor spent her first night away from home without mommy or daddy, at Maclaren’s. She had a GREAT time. Her mommy, however, was a miserable wreck the entire night and next day until she came home. She did great at both sleepovers. She and her friend went to bed without a fight and slept all through the night. Reports from her night away from home were positive as well. She was polite, ate what she was served and was asleep by 8pm. Her mom secretly hoped for a call in the middle of the night explaining that Taylor NEEDED her and could she please come get her right away. She is growing up so fast!!

Rippin it Tay Style

January 2010 and Taylor Frey is out tearing up the slopes at the canyons, and rocking the new threads she got for Christmas.  A black coat with pink plaid ski pants is her new signature style for the season.  You really have to look sharp if you are a local kid.

Meet ATF

Hi. My name is Augusta Taylor Frey, but you can call me Taylor. I am four years old and I live and play in Park City, Utah. This is a blog of my adventures. My mom is going to author my blog because, well, I am only four years old currently and can't really read and write yet.  Posts will be about all the crazy and adventurous things I do, of which there are plenty.  I started riding horses before I could walk.  Before I turned 5 I skied down from every lift at the canyons, including 9990, which is an experts only lift.  I started riding passenger on dirt bikes when I was three years old, and would have done it earlier but my parents didn’t own them until I was three.  Slackers.  I have a swing in my living room that I like to learn and perform tricks on.  It hangs from about 20 feet and I can really scare my mom when I climb up the swing, while swinging, and then flip upside down.  Since we live on about 5 acres with dogs, cats, horses and lots of people there are always chores to be done, and I love helping with chores.  I am an excellent helper.  So not all posts will be all about fun. Sometimes I have serious work to do like mending fences.  So I hope you enjoy my life and antics.  I know my mom will have fun blogging about them. Enjoy ;-)
